Lenovo BLAST Employee Resource Group Celebrates Black History Month with African Culture, Food, and Drumming Experience
Yesterday, our BLAST Employee Resource Group at Lenovo took us on an incredible journey through African culture in celebration of Black History Month. ✊🏾🌍We explored African foods, spices, and drinks, and closed out with an energizing drumming session that brought the whole room together. Programs like this are necessary — they go beyond awareness and create genuine understanding, strengthening the bonds that make our workplace community truly special. Like my girl Laura Gomez said "our cultures really aren't that different from each other". A huge thank you to the BLAST leaders and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this happen. Your dedication to inclusion and belonging is felt by all. What a wonderful way to close out Black History Month!💛 ❤️ 💚 🤎 🖤 hashtag#BlackHistoryMonth hashtag#BLAST hashtag#EmployeeResourceGroup hashtag#weareLenovo

Unity Black ERG Connects with Black Technologists and Creators at AfroTech 2022 to Advance Inclusion in Technology and Gaming
What good is it to achieve success in technology if you can’t reach down and help others elevate themselves? That’s what this last week has been for me while attending hashtag#afrotech22 . I’m grateful for being able to have the space and time to chat with fellow and future technologists while sharing my experiences in tech and at Unity. I also had a chance to speak with black content creators and indie devs like Brian Ollison and Kym Pressley, CSM who founded Brikym Games and created the mobile game, “The Kingdom of Kuru: The Stolen Lumen,” (https://lnkd.in/gCP6pEYe.) Really beautifully done and hashtag#madewithunity . 😉 It was also truly awesome to finally meet some of my fellow Black Erg colleagues in person for the very first time! 😄 Now for the highlights, where do I begin?!Let's start with how in complete awe I was at the turn out and the energy of the creators in the room as my fellow colleagues, Ray Graham, Krystal Cooper and Nick Straughn (moderated by the amazing Trinidad Hermida) spoke on how, “Real Time 3D is the Future.” Another impactful moment centered around a fireside chat with Gordon Bellamy and Ryan Johnson to discuss, “A Culture Conversation: Future-Proofing Diversity in Gaming.” Ryan is the founder and CEO of Cxmmunity Media and HBCU Esports League to further inclusivity in the gaming industry. Lastly we opened our doors and invited conference attendees into our Unity Austin office to celebrate Damien McDuffie, MFA, founder and creator of Black Terminus AR ,(https://lnkd.in/gT9JUdYk), who’s mission is to, “develop and inspire the next generation of Black creative technologists by revealing history through a reimagined lens.” His A/R exhibit was truly creative and immersive! Overall, this week has been utterly inspiring and energizing. The call to action to further inclusivity by making technology roles and content creation more accessible to black and brown people like me has been heard!! Let's all roll up our sleeves and do our part!!hashtag#AfroTech22 hashtag#BlackandBrownCreators hashtag#BlackandBrownTechnologists hashtag#Inclusivity hashtag#CreatingOpportunity hashtag#MadeWithUnity hashtag#diversity hashtag#gaming hashtag#success hashtag#culture hashtag#grateful

Amazon's Bay Area Black Employee Network Holiday Party Raises Funds for Tech Exchange Through Community and Culture
Over 100+ attendees, incredible sounds by Kosi P., and over $1,300 raised for Tech Exchange. The 2nd annual Amazon Bay Area Black Employee Network (BEN) Holiday Party was a resounding success! Having the opportunity to gather before the holidays for an evening of food, drinks, and laughs is something that I don't take for granted. BEN has been an amazing resource for myself and so many other Amazonians, so I'm grateful for everyone who took the time to come support our holiday party this past Saturday. 2025 was a year of firsts, growth, and new learnings, so I'm hopeful that as we close out this year and look towards 2026, the new year will bring even more growth for those around us as we continue to make intentional & meaningful impact in our communities!AmazonBEN TechExchange BlackEmployeeNetwork BayAreaBEN BayArea AmazonERG BEN TechIndustry BayAreaTech WomenInTech BlackInTech TechDiversity SiliconValley TechCareers FutureOfTech TechTalent Innovation2025

Microsoft Employee Reflects on 10 Years of Career Growth Innovation and Community Impact
10 years at Microsoft ❤️It hasn’t been a straight line—different chapters, geographies, roles, mentors, and even a break in between. And honestly, one of the biggest reasons I wanted to work here in the beginning was growing up during the Bill Gates era 😄. I remember thinking: “This company was built by one of the smartest people in the world. Imagine getting to work there someday.”So when the opportunity came, I jumped at it! What I didn’t realize then was that Microsoft would shape far more than just my career.Over these 10 years — across India and the US — I’ve had the chance to experience things I could never have predicted when I first joined as a nervous new hire trying to decode acronyms and survive the famous “drink from the firehose” phase.I’ve had the opportunity to:• Build and scale self-serve platforms and systems that help marketers move faster and work more efficiently• Experience the shift from the Cloud era to the AI era — not from the sidelines, but from inside one of the companies helping shape it• Participate in hackathons and build ideas from scratch• Mentor others through company programs and communities• Champion initiatives like the hashtag#Giving Campaign and see how deeply employees care about impact beyond work• Work with incredibly sharp, curious people who constantly push you to keep learning and evolving• Learn through summits, trainings, leadership exposure, and conversations far beyond my immediate role. One thing I’ve always appreciated is how global Microsoft feels.Even after moving to the US, it rarely felt like I was working in “an American company.” I’ve worked with people across cultures, backgrounds, accents, and perspectives so consistently that hashtag#diversity stopped feeling like a corporate word and just became everyday life. And somewhere along the way, I also:• Met Aamir Khan during a campaign shoot - though I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t remember that 😄• Ended up featured on Microsoft India’s Facebook channels as “Happy at Work” and “ROI Guru” (still makes me laugh a little)The technology industry changed dramatically over these 10 years.Honestly, so did I. Growth and change aren't always comfortable—but they're real. The environment stretches you, and that’s often where the most meaningful learning happens.Grateful for the people, the learning, the opportunities, and the journey so far ❤️hashtag#Microsoft hashtag#MicrosoftLife hashtag#CareerGrowth hashtag#WomenInTech hashtag#AI hashtag#MarTech
